Our accredited CPD courses:
The Language, Literacy and Learning course is suitable for Primary and Secondary schools and is tailored to fit the needs of the age range taught. The course involves 14 hours of tutor input plus participant activities in the classroom and additional study. Delivery is by speaker, discussion and activity, with activities transferable to the classroom and reading and key learning materials provided. Participants successfully completing all taught sessions and inter-session activities will receive a certificate of CPD.
LILAC enables teachers to develop effective teaching and learning across the curriculum using successful proven language and learning strategies. It makes possible a whole school approach to language and learning that can push students through the level 3/4 border or C/D border in English language
assessments. The course is suitable for all teacherswho work with students whose first language is not English.
Bilingualism in Education MEd/Diploma/Certificate In partnership with the University of Birmingham, NASSEA offers a distance learning course aimed at specialist teachers of EAL leading to a Postgraduate Certificate, Postgraduate Diploma or a Master’s Degree in Bilingualism in Education.
A taught and practice based course aimed at developing the practice of mainstream teachers and teaching assistants to meet the Institute of Education, London, EAL standards for non-specialist teachers.
Meeting the Needs of EAL Learners in Your Classroom is running in Bury and Denbighshire for 2016-17.

This course can also be delivered to groups of participants in schools and Local Authorities across the UK by arrangement.
